EAST Registry-based Randomized Controlled Trial (EAST-RRCT) Award

The Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma is collaborating with CNTR to create a novel funding mechanism aimed at the goal of zero preventable deaths from trauma. This award will support a Registry-based Randomized Controlled Trial (RRCT). The intent of the EAST-RRCT Award is to assist a primary investigator in successfully conducting and publishing a multisite registry-based randomized clinical trial to answer essential and novel questions in trauma practice to improve the care of injured patients.

This funding mechanism is designed to support an RRCT that addresses a high-priority research gap identified in the National Trauma Research Action Plan. For this funding mechanism, the American College of Surgeons—Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) registry will be required to capture study-related variables. Randomization at the center level is also required to facilitate rapid trial completion.

The maximum award amount is $100,000, and the maximum performance period is three years.
