Six American Trauma Society – Trauma Survivor Network (TSN) sites have agreed to participate in CNTR’s Injury Research Engagement Project (I-REP) and assist with recruitment of patients, caregivers, and research staff: Wake Forest Hospital; Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD; University of Tennessee Medical Center – Knoxville; Riverside Community Hospital; George Washington University Hospital; and SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital. These sites comprise urban level one trauma centers, one burn center, and one community (level 2) trauma center located on the east coast, west coast and the Midwest. These sites will help ensure the recruitment of a diverse group of patients and other stakeholders for the I-REP.

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) selected CNTR for a $230,000 Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award for this project titled “The Community of Trauma Care – Partnering with Patients and Caregivers to Improve Injury Outcomes.” The project launched this summer.

Health Alliance for Violence Intervention (HAVI) will also assist with recruitment of project participants for the focus groups, survey, and Injury Research Engagement Panel (I-REP). HAVI will aid in disseminating project findings to stakeholder communities.

In addition, the Society for Trauma Nurses (STN) will assist with recruitment of project participants for the focus groups, survey, and Injury Research Engagement Panel (I-REP). STN will also disseminate project findings to stakeholder communities.
