April 30, 2018–This May marks 30 years of National Trauma Awareness Month. Initiated in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan, the annual month-long educational effort recognizes trauma as a major public health problem. Organizations dedicated to trauma injury prevention, awareness and care collaborate this year in the American Trauma Society’s campaign Safety at Any Speed.

The Safety at Any Speed campaign focuses on recreational vehicle safety–from jet skis to golf carts. ATS provides links to safety tips; state laws and regulations related to operation of jet skis, dirt bikes, ATVs, snowmobiles, and golf carts; and practical advice to avoid injury.

Before embarking on your summer adventure, make sure to check out the resources and links on the American Trauma Society website.
