Invest in Research Infrastructure during CNTR’s Five-Year Anniversary!
To commemorate five years since its official relaunch, the Coalition of National Trauma Research is excited to introduce the Friends of CNTR Giving Society.
Since 2020, CNTR has grown from an initial five to now 24 core, stakeholder and affiliate members representing 232,000 multidisciplinary adult and pediatric trauma care professionals, patient advocates and allied providers across the spectrum of injury. We have diversified our portfolio of funded projects, built a suite of essential investigator resources, and developed a prioritized trauma research road map to close gaps and save lives.
We’re ready to take this coalition to the next level!
The Friends of CNTR will support activities related to our research infrastructure projects, mentorship activities, and advocacy efforts to increase federal funding for trauma research.
Programs targeted for Friends of CNTR investments include:
- Travel awards and scholarships for young investigators to attend CNTR conferences in person, work on multidisciplinary teams and participate in writing manuscripts. CNTR is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of trauma researchers, and we provide opportunities for early-career surgeon scientists to engage with and learn from more seasoned investigators.
- Proposal-writing and administrative support. CNTR partners with investigators to write multi-institutional research proposals at no cost to investigators. This is an endeavor that requires an enormous number of hours.
- Staff training to build capabilities with new AI-enabled tools and evolving agency processes. CNTR’s staff of seven have decades of combined experience in grant management, clinical trials execution, geographic information systems, communications, nonprofit operations and more. We invest in professional development and new tools to make sure our services are effective and efficient.
- Compensation for patient partners. CNTR is committed to meeting PCORI’s Foundational Expectations for Partnerships in Research to maintain meaningful and effective engagement with patients, communities and other partners. We always compensate our Patient & Caregiver Engagement Panel members for their time and expertise.
- Advocacy activities focused on establishing a sustainable federal investment in trauma research, commensurable with the societal burden of injury. Our vision for the future is a national, sustainably funded home for trauma research that coalesces resources and efforts and leads to zero preventable deaths and disability. To get there, CNTR needs a comprehensive advocacy strategy and compelling presence on Capitol Hill.
