Retired Commander of the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (ISR) and a founding board member of the National Trauma Institute, Dr. Basil A. Pruitt, Jr. was honored in an October 22nd San Antonio Express-News article celebrating his contributions to medicine. Dr. Pruitt spent 27 years at the helm of the ISR and developed many life-saving practices for burn victims.
