Cryoprecipitate For Immediate Resuscitation in Severe Trauma (CryoFIRST)

The Cryoprecipitate For Immediate Resuscitation in Severe Trauma (CryoFIRST) study is a multi-center, single arm, pragmatic observational study evaluating whether INTERCEPT Fibrinogen Complex (IFC), a pre-thawed fibrinogen-rich blood product, improves outcomes compared to standard cryoprecipitate (CRYO-AHF) in trauma patients with hypo-fibrinogenemia. The study will enroll ~320 patients across four Level 1 trauma centers. Key outcomes include fibrinogen restoration, hemostatic control, mortality, safety, and ICU resource use. Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, CryoFIRST addresses the time-critical challenge of delivering fibrinogen quickly to bleeding trauma patients.
