Combined OFM & Vacuum-assisted therapy for Expedited Regeneration over exposed structures (COVER)
The COVER study examines whether combining ovine forestomach matrix (OFM) with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) can accelerate healing of traumatic wounds with exposed bone or tendon. This multi-center pilot trial evaluates the biologic scaffold and vacuum therapy combination for promoting tissue regeneration in patients with limited closure options. By fostering more rapid wound coverage, COVER aims to reduce complications, speed recovery, and preserve limb function.
CNTR will procure and manage the conduct of the study including providing site identification and maintenance for up to three trauma centers by facilitating IRB agreements, data and site monitoring, subcontracting , and overall study management activities.
