Bridging Readiness in Deployed Neurotrauma Gaps for Excellence (BRIDGE-US, BRIDGE-UKR)

The BRIDGE project is a major initiative funded by the Department of Defense through the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) and involving neurotrauma programs in both the United States and Ukraine.

BRIDGE aims to build a comprehensive training and research infrastructure for penetrating brain injury in both military and civilian settings in the U.S. and Ukraine. Over the next three years, it will develop didactic, simulation, cadaveric, and hands-on training for deployable neurosurgical teams.

The Coalition for National Trauma Research (CNTR) is a crucial partner in this effort. CNTR will coordinate a consortium of 11 clinical sites that will contribute to data, imaging, and biospecimen repositories for penetrating brain injury research. CNTR is also managing the multi‑site study logistics and convening subject matter experts to define common data elements and standardized terminology for penetrating brain injury research.

This effort is sponsored by the Government under Other Transaction number W81XWH-15-9-0001.
