Coordinating Center Capabilities
To date, NTI has coordinated 22 federally-funded studies in 25 states involving more than 70 clinical investigators. These studies span the range from translational trauma research to device development.
NTI facilitates data sharing through the National Trauma Research Repository (NTRR), which stores investigators’ data following clinical research. The NTRR helps investigators meet new international data sharing requirements and provides a rich data source for enduring use.
NTI provides expertise in grant application preparation, full life cycle study management, research administration, multi-site clinical trials coordination, human subjects protection, IRB coordination, and sub-recipient monitoring.
NTI’s Science Committee comprises civilian and military research leaders, many of whom serve or have served as presidents of national trauma surgery organizations. Their knowledge about the landscape of past and current research activities and outcomes is invaluable to the peer review process.
NTI follows a comprehensive Knowledge Translation process to bridge research and practice.
